Beginning Quilting with Holly
Beginning Quilting
6 Weeks beginning October 6 - Nov 10, 2021 6:00pm - 8:00pm
Students will learn:
~Quilting basics such as proper measuring, cutting fabrics, piecing (strip piecing and bias squares), pressing, quilting and binding
**Required Materials:
~Sewing machine in good working order with power cord and foot pedal
~Power strip
~Walking foot for your machine, if available
~New sewing machine needles (12/80)
~100% cotton sewing thread with bobbins
~Cutting mat - minimum of 18" by 24"
~Rotary cutter with a new blade
~Quilting ruler - 6" x 24"
~Fabric Scissors
~Long glass head straight pins
~Thread for machine quilting
~Safety pins for basting
~Notebook and pencil
Students will receive a 15% discount on products for class
Fabric Requirements:
~3/4 yard - Main/Focus Fabric (should be a multi-colored print that is not terribly large or have large areas of background)
~1/3 yard each of a medium and dark valued fabric based on your focus fabric.
~1/2 yard of a light background fabric (should be the lightest of all fabrics)

| Instructor Bio: | Holly began sewing clothing from a young age. Quilting was never on her radar until her mother was bit by the quilting bug and began "dragging" Holly around to quilt shows. That was over 40 years ago. Since then, Holly has had the pleasure of teaching 100's of people how to quilt. Quilting has given a lot to Holly and she loves passing the gift onto others. |
